REMINDER
If you haven't done so yet, bring your offering for the toys next Sunday.
Please put it in an envelope and give it to one of the teachers. I will collect it after the service
Learning together, following directions
When the children first arrive, I like to greet them and give clear direction about what they are to do. Having two helpers during the playtime who can draw the children into constructive, fun activity really helps.

When I teach this class I notice that the children really respond with joy to being able to serve (i.e. moving chairs and tables, passing out or putting away lunches and coloring pictures, throwing away garbage, etc...).
ReplyDeleteLast week we played a music game where all the chairs were lined against the wall and when the music played they ran or walked according to the speed of the song but when the music stopped the first person back to a chair got a skittle. It was great fun and a good game to play at the end of class because it makes it easy to transition into sitting with lunches and waiting for parents to get them once Church is over. - Michelle
